Birmingham 2022 Festival presents
Personal Best
A Creative City Short Film
Funded by Birmingham City Council
Inspired by the lives and hopes of five people living in Brum with a Disability.
An Advocacy Matters project in partnership with Blue & White Creative
Made by Bostin' Creative Arts & Theatre
Personal Best celebrates twenty years of local charity, Advocacy Matters. Through pieces of verbatim inspired Spoken Word, we meet five advocates - all at different stages of their lives, striving for an accessible, hopeful future and reflecting on the journeys they've been on. They set off from the starting line of the University of Birmingham Athletics Track and throughout the film you'll catch snippets of well loved landmarks, including the Birmingham Hippodrome, downtown Digbeth, Victoria Square and the Pen Museum. Actors from InteGreat Theatre punctuate the piece with BSL. The film contains integrated subtitles and elements of audio description.
'Channel your strength into where you can most.'
